Frequently Asked Questions
Why use natural soaps?
Commercial soaps contain petroleum products, esters (known carcinogens), alcohols (drying), low grade oils, waxes, fillers, detergents, preservatives, synthetic dyes and synthetic fragrances. Commercial soaps also have the naturally occurring glycerin (a humectant) stripped out of them to resell to you in the form of beauty creams and lotions. Over time, many people develop allergic reactions to synthetic ingredients and their symptoms are relieved when they regularly use a pure and natural hand made soap.
What are your soaps made of?
All of my soaps contain a base of olive, coconut and palm oils. This formula is proven to produce a soap that is moisturizing, sudsy and hard. Beyond this base formula, I add other ingredients to achieve desired effects. The soaps are scented with high quality essential oils.
What distinguishes your products from other hand made soaps?
Not all handmade soaps are natural. In fact, most soap makers use synthetic fragrances and colorants to make beautiful soaps that are handmade, but not natural. If a soap label contains the word "fragrance" it means a synthetically derived scent. All of my labels read "pure essential oils of . . . ". Beyond this first distinguishing feature, my soaps are hard and long lasting. I use ingredients chosen specifically for their unique skin care properties.
