We harvest two grass-fed, grass-finished steers two to three times yearly on our farm. We use a licensed mobile processor to take the animal's life on the pasture he was raised rather than hauling them to a processing facility for slaughter. The animal is gutted, skinned and quartered on the land and then brought to the facility to hang and cure for about two weeks before getting cut according to your specifications. Our small herd of British White Park heritage breed is raised on pristine pastures. We move them onto fresh grass/alfalfa daily and clip the uneaten grass behind them to ensure optimal regeneration of the land and forage. We run a cow/calf operation so all our animals are raised from birth on our 40 acre farm in Whitewater. We have no need to vaccinate because we have a closed herd and all our animals are healthy and happy. We make our own hay for winter and do not use any sprays or chemicals on our land. I go so far as to use neem oil and essential oils for fly control in the stickiest days of the season. If you are interested in putting some real, clean meat in your freezer, please sign up for an email notification alerting you about our next harvest. We will then service the customers on our list on a first come/first serve basis. The average cost for a quarter beef is around $1200 plus processing fees of approximately $200 depending on the animal's weight.
